Licensed & Certified Midwife
Hi, I am Tanya Walker. First and foremost, I am the proud mother of 5. I gave birth 25 years ago in a hospital setting and that experience set the course of my calling as a midwife. I knew there had to be a better way. My studies in midwifery started in 1999 while preparing to have my second child at home. I have had the personal experience of birthing at home with midwives and also planned Free Births. I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of families birth in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. Witnessing the miracle of birth and helping people find their innate wisdom and power is my passion. Midwifery has shaped my life in ways I never would have imagined and I am forever grateful to do this work.
I am Licensed by the Medical Board of California and Certified by the North American Registry of Midwives. Additionally, I attended Oregon State University with a focus in Women’s Studies, Science and Anthropology. I spend a great deal of time attending continuing education courses and listening to all my favorite birth related podcasts in order to stay current with the latest research and evidenced based information. During my free time, you can find me spending time on the beach with family, hiking, at the yoga studio, attending live music events with friends and traveling.
Hannah grew up in Minnesota, studied Mathematics and French at the United States Air Force Academy, CO, then transferred to Bard College in NY to receive her BS in Molecular Biology and BA in Dance with a minor in French. Hannah has always had a deep love of science and the esoteric, leading to pursuing a career as a bodyworker for the last 10 years, completing 2 Registered Yoga Teacher 200 programs, and a 1200 hour Biodynamic Craniosacral Program alongside deep interests in herbs and holistic healing. Hannah seriously considered medical school for many years, but was always drawn to a more holistic and global perspective of health and the human experience.
She began her journey towards birth work the moment she had her first child, Satya, in 2012, an event that changed everything she knew about life, medicine and spirituality, and seemed to encompass all the studies she loved. Hannah has been attending births as a doula since 2013, and began as a midwife assistant in 2016 shortly after the birth of her second daughter, Saoirse. She is now enrolled at the National Midwifery Institute and studying to become a midwife. Hannah believes very much in the birth experience as a key moment of transformation for women and their families. Supporting women during this time has become a beautifully important aspect of life.
Katrina Bolduc, Doula
Hi! I am Katrina Bolduc. I am a student midwife at the National Midwifery Institute. I am also a wife, a mother of two amazing children, an ironman triathlete, a lover of nature, animals and everything birth. I am a firm believer that a person’s pregnancy, labor, and birth are one of the most pivotal moments in a persons life. My goal is to support, empower, provide evidence based information, and assist in making your birth journey as memorable as possible.
I received my Bachelors of Science degree from Montana State University in 2009. With a passion for helping others I fell in love with the aspect of supporting, encouraging, and helping others grow, with compassion, respect, understanding, and commitment to meet each individual where they are at. I am a forever student of life, and enjoy trainings and new experiences that will build on my strengths to help others.
Throughout my own personal experience with labor and the delivery of my son in 2015 and my daughter in 2019, I experienced the monumental impact that I will forever carry. With a heart for helping, and a passion for pregnancy, birth and beyond I began what has ultimately become my midwifery journey - beginning as a labor doula, adding childbirth, lactation and new parent education, bereavement services, placenta encapsulation and postpartum services. I then completed a midwifery assistant workshop, and Spinning Babies training. My midwifery philosophy is one of teamwork, trust, mutual respect, and compassion.
I encourage families to build a support system to help propel them into this incredible life changing experience. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
We have a secret in our culture,
and it's not the birth is painful,
it's that women are strong.

"Tanya is phenomenal. She has so much experience with birth and caring for women that there is nothing she can’t help with. Her vast knowledge and confidence in her craft set our minds at ease. She listens and asks questions to help new mamas understand what kind of birth they want. Her support is empowering. I cannot recommend her highly enough!" -Kristen Longcrier (2016)
"If I had another baby, I wouldn't want anyone but Tanya delivering him/her. When she moved away I immediately started trying to figure out how I would do my potential appointments from another state, so I'm so glad she's back to serve the central coast! My visits with her felt more like hanging out with a friend than a pre-natal appointment, although we did get the important stuff done as well. :) She is so supportive, professional, and knowledgable, and her presence helped make my home birth the amazing experience it was. We love Tanya! -Carrie Silveira (2015)
"Tanya has been, and will always be, an attentive and caring midwife. Her presence encouraged me to rebirth myself in wholeness as I carried and birthed my son. Her intuitive and skilled nature is a gift. You are in good hands with her. My family and I were in good hands with her. I still marvel at the experience of connecting with the innate knowledge of birth and birthing she guided me toward." -Lillie Goldstein (2010)
